A message from Grandpa and Grandma Schmanski
Grandma & Grandpa Schmanski need to get their two cents worth in and now is as good a time as any.
Brendan went with Lily – the cute little two-year old across the cul-de-sac who is madly in love with him – and they went to the park with her aunt. She said having two was much easier than one cause they can play together.
Brendan has been going to Montesorri school every morning and we pick him up early at l. Whitney has dance every day also so Grandpa takes her and picks her up. Right now Whitney is at Skylar’s house – probably in the pool and then they are going to a movie. Thank God for the lifestyle we are living these days – a lifestyle that allows us to just move right onto Tim & Maria’s driveway and plug our house in. This way we can relieve Tim & Maria of the stress of worrying about the younger two and the house and the cats. I can’t think of any other place I’d rather be right now.
Tim & Maria have so much to decide on and watch out for and take care of concerning Tori. I think those doctors have learned to consult with them before they make any decisions concerning Tori’s care. Todd’s right – they have strength and endurance and knowledge they never knew they possessed. Even though I may have spent 6 or 8 hours at the hospital – I always run to the computer to see what has happened because Tim can describe everything so eloquently. The web site is fantastic – thanx to Guy (whom we have adopted into our family along with Sophie). He said the site is getting 1200 hits a day. There is no way Tim would be able to respond to all the people who want to know how Tori is doing.
As far as the girls asking if visiting Tori was okay – it’s so appreciated so please don’t stop. I was reading a book about a boy who had brain injury from being hit by a car. The book was written by his Mom and one sentence read “His friends all stopped coming around. They had their own lives to live. They told me this would happenâ€. That part really made me cry. We appreciate the parents who are taking the time and making the effort to take you up to Primary – we know what a long drive that is. We welcome your visits so please don’t stop.
One of these days Tori will sit up and say “Hi†instead of just smiling at you. We used to get upset with Tori cause she stayed up so late at night on the computer. Now we realize why – she was talking with her friends – ALL of her friends – she didn’t want to miss even one and that’s why it took her so long. The doctors have done everything they can to heal Tori’s body – the rest of her healing is up to God. Just keep praying that we can keep her for a very long time – she can go dance with the angels later.
Hi to Sandy & Paul
We tried calling you Sunday quite a few times at Tim's # but couldn't get you. We both wanted to talk to you because we know you certainly are having a bad time too. But Sandy, for all your positive thinking you've always have, it has to get Tori better. Dick has gone back to work again so he is not here now. We feel so bad for all of you and wish Tori her full being back. It's hard to imagine what you are all going through. You have a strong and close family to help and support one another to get through this. All of the younger kids here are keeping up with the latest information too. They were so eager to get those posters done. I hope Tori can somehow know and receive our "vibs" of well wishes and love. I was going to write before, but I keep getting my password screwed up and am now on my 2nd or 3rd. Take care and Love, Shirley

My dear, dear brother and sister-in-law. I was thrilled to read your entry. Eloquent writing runs in the family. You have been through so much yet continue with a sense of humor with compassion. We have been concerned about you and the other family members so the update was very much appreciated. Hope you enjoy the Reunion photos. More to come by USPS from us. We love you and pray for all of you as well as Tori often throughout the day. Just wanted to mention - my favorite photo of Tori is on my desk at work and have had so many people ask me "who's the beautiful girl in the picture". I introduce them to Tori and pass along the website in hopes that they are truly concerned and will read Tori's Story. Love to all, Jill and Donny.

Grandpa Paul and Grandma Sandy,
It is great to hear from you. Tim, Maria, Tori, Whitney, Brendan are so lucky to have you two. We know and can assume that you are a great support system. You guys are in our prayers too.

To Uncle Paul & Aunt Sandy
Thanks for the message Sandy!! You and "Grandpa" or Uncle Paul have been in our thoughts every day. We are glad as well, that you are able to "plug your house in anywhere". You have decreased Tim & Maria's stress level greatly by being able to be with Brendan & Whitney. I am thankful for that. We will keep praying for Tori and for you as well.
We love you! Take Care!
Janine
I am not sure that this will get to the right person
Hi my name is Teri and i'm not sure this will get to the right person but i would like to just say that I understand a lot of what you guys are going through right now. My sister who is my best friend was just involved in a car wreck on May 12th. She was in icu at the same hospital for about 3 weeks they didnt think she was going to make it and i was at the hospital everyday with her. I no first hand how hard it is to live in the hospital for that long its not easy but when its being there careing for someone you love its well worth it. I just wanted to say that Tori is in good hands at that hospital the people in icu are great. I would also like to say my sister is now doing very well for them not expecting her to live so there is hope that Tori will be just fine. I wish you all the best its not easy for anyone. I would also like to say that Tori is very lucky to have a family that cares enough to stay there some people have know one. Keep your head up.
Teri
