Re: Hangzhou Hospital

My name is Lorraine Weil. I too have a daughter who sustained a brain injury (Nov. 11, 2003). I'm in the process of making arrangements to take her to China and have many, many questions. First of all, how and why did you decide on Hangzhou Hospital. I was only given an option for Beijing Tiantan Puhua Hospital through the stemcellschina.com "contact us" link. Yet everyone I read about is going or has gone to Hangzhou. I've been reading your webpage for about a week and a half now, so I've pretty much scoured it completely and still have not been directed to the hangzhou facility. Thanks for taking the time to read this; hope to hear from you soon. God Bless You All! I'm glad Tori is doing better and I'll keep her in my prayers. If you'd like to see my daughter, she can be found on www.caringbridge.org/visit/shawnaweil.

Re: Re: Hangzhou Hospital

Hello Lorraine,

Thank you for your support and I have reviewed Shawna's site as well. After viewing literally hundreds of sites like hers and Tori's, life just doesn't seem fair at times.... Anyway, there are multiple options to choose from in regards to SCT (Stem Cell Treatment) and any recommendations you will receive will be based on a few factors. The type of brain injury - Traumatic (TBI) versus Anoxic (ABI), the amount of time elapsed since the injury and the type of stem cells desired to be used - umbilical, embryonic, from bone marrow, etc.. From my research and in corresponding with numerous facilities in China, TBI's and those with older injuries typically go to Tiantan. Newer injuries and other ailments go elsewhere. But there are always exceptions of course.

I would highly encourage you to monitor Koo's updates on Chris during his treatment in Tiantan. Koo is a wonderful person and would probably answer any questions you have as well. I will of course do the same so please feel free to send me an email at .

Thank you,

-Tim

Hangzhou

Lorraine,

My name is Jon and I work for Beike and run the China Stem Cell News web site. Basically when the cases are more difficult, we usually suggest going to Tiantan because while they are more expensive and the treatment takes longer, they use a variety of stem cells and drugs which may help the harder cases more.

We just want everyone who comes to Beike to be happy with the results so if the cases appear a bit more difficult we suggest taking the Tiantan treatment. Tiantan is really the only other treatment center dealing with stem cells that I have been to that I would go to if someone in my family had a problem.

Thank you.

WTG Tori / Thanks Jon

WOW! is all I can say to Tori eating real food ... Awesome! I pray for Tori every night along with others. I'm really excited to hear of her progress for it gives us and others so much hope for our futures. Go Tori Go!

Jon ... thank you for your comment. I understand now and am in the process of mailing out Shawna's medical history now to Beijing Tiantan Puhua Hospital and will await further instructions. Praying now that she will be accepted into a treatment plan. God Bless Us ALL!
