Saturday Afternoon, June 25th - Email update number six

Below is the text of a general email update sent on Saturday afternoon, June 25.

Hello everyone,

I would first like to greatly thank all of you who are supporting Tori in so many different ways. I have seen pictures of all the 'Pray 4 Tori" signs plastered all over Orem, I have recieved soooo many positive and caring emails and phone calls, I have heard of the chat room conversations concerning Tori, I have read the logs and I may have even spoken with many of you personally about her. It is truly amazing how many lives Tori has touched and had an impact on!! My family and I appreciate all of this support more than any of you imagine and it provides us AND Tori a tremendous amount of comfort and confidence to continue on. Thank you all so much again and please don't stop!!

Today's status on Tori is again very positive. The MRI and Spectroscopy read exactly the same as the earlier ones which is exactly what we had hoped for. The chemical balances still showed normal results and the MRI also showed normal with NO 'Dead' brain cells. Tori does have 'Damaged' brain cells in certain areas but those cells CAN heal where the 'Dead' ones cannot. We are very optimistic for her recovery but I always want to caution everyone that each person is unique and their ability to heal and re-learn is as well. Tori has many challenges ahead of her but with alot of faith and and overhelming support I believe we can make a difference in her recovery. And we all know Tori has so much more to give to this world.

We are now heading into another life support level so Tori has recieved a feeding tube through her nose, a new rehabilitation team to work with her movement and speech and she will undergo a big test on Monday when they will attempt to totally remove her breathing tube. She still breathes on her own and is almost at 100% of normal. This still totally amazes me because the doctors thought her lung damage would cause her death when she arrived!! Keep fighting Tori!!

I believe that is all I have to share today. Please keep the faith and hope up everyone and thank you all so very much once again.

With love,

The Schmanski Family
